Also, our congratulations go out to the BITPOM.COM contest guitar winner Keith from Las Vegas and his very pure fucking metal family (Doreen and daughter Tabitha). They won the ESP / LTD Michael Amott signature model 'Ninja V' and will be faithfully shredding that axe 'til it bleeds - or at least his fingers ;-)

Keith's winning entry:

"I'm just flat out fortunate to have seen the greatest genre' in music evolve over the last three and a half decades. I was born at the right time, my life started about the same time as the scene (yes, I'm getting ooold), with Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Sabbath was heavy, and Priest was metal. There it began. The music kept getting heavier and faster, and so did my musical tastes. I've been proud to fly the flag of metal for 30 years. I first saw Slayer on the Haunting North America tour in January of '85. I protested the LV city council when they canceled a Venom, Slayer & Oz concert scheduled for April '85 because the music was "too evil."

I've been really lucky to see some great bands in their heyday: Sabbath & Priest, Maiden, Slayer (in the 80's, 90's & 2000's), Metallica in the 80's, Napalm Death on the Musical Destruction tour, Cannibal Corpse on the Bleeding tour, Carcass - Heartwork tour, Fear Factory - Demanufacture tour, Sepultura on the Chaos AD tour, Morbid Angel - Domination, Autopsy, Kreator, Brutal Truth's inaugural tour (the early 90's was a great era for my favorite sub-genre: death metal), saw CoF twice on the Damnation tour. It's been great so far and there's no stopping now.

I think Arch Enemy is the new Judas Priest, the next band to carry the flag for all of us. They have all the ingredients: two shredding axe-men, an iconic vocalist (I call Angela the Metal Goddess in homage to Halford, the Metal God), they care about the scene, they often sing about keeping the scene together and the camaraderie of metalheads (even though metalheads love to argue and scrap about who's the best band, etc, we bicker like brothers bicker, the bottom line is we love metal). My family is a metal family. We go to shows together, Slayer, CoF. The kid got her pic taken with Sharlee after an Arch Enemy gig, she was on cloud nine for weeks.

Metal rules. Period. Metal for life."
